Forget everything your driving instructor ever taught you. Rally driving is all about slamming the steering wheel, heaving the handbrake and taking those corners at a skid. For fast and furious excitement, it's hard to beat. You'll be amazed by the techniques used in rallying - the car seems to be permanently skidding, but actually it's under control (more or less!). You'll start your day with an introductory briefing from your instructor and then it's time to get behind the wheel for some practice sessions - you'll learn techniques such as hand brake turns and controlled opposite lock slides. Re-charge your batteries with a full lunch and then it's back to the rally car for more driving and your big chance to put your new found skills into practice! Many of our courses have loose surface stages - which means much more sliding, and much more fun! The cars you will drive will vary according to the location.
Single seaters are the closest you will ever get to driving a genuine F1 car. As you sit in the small cockpit you look out towards the start line, you start to build the revs, and when the flag is dropped you drop the clutch and launch down the straight. In a matter of seconds you're taking the corners and barrelling along! The programme typically involves a welcome on arrival, followed by a briefing. Then it’s time to take to the wheel for laps in a performance saloon, where your instructor will demonstrate circuit driving techniques such as taking the correct line on a corner. Next you take the wheel yourself to practice what you have been taught. Then the real action begins: you take a single seater racing car such as a Formula First, Formula Renault or Formula Ford around the racing circuit. With potential acceleration of 0-60 in less than 6 seconds, these cars are perfectly placed to introduce you to the exhilaration and excitement of racing.

It’s one of the most enjoyable learning experiences you’ll ever have! After a welcome you will be given an introduction to the various types of skid situations by your instructor. You will learn how to anticipate skid conditions and more importantly, how to get out of them. After some demonstrations from your instructor you and the other members of your group will take it in turns recovering and avoiding skids. You will usually be driving a specially modified car, which can replicate different forms of skids by electronically shifting the weight distribution of the car. It's great fun as well as a valuable lesson for all drivers.

Once the cable is released you will search out some thermals and then gently glide back down to earth.
After your first flight you'll be hooked on this superb sport. Why? It's much more challenging than powered flight - you need a lot of skill to keep a glider airborne - knowing how to recognise lift (rising air), where to find it and how to use it. But it's also great fun - effectively you become just like a bird - you often rise up in thermals alongside birds! You will be towed into the air by a powered aircraft. After a pre-flight briefing, you will be strapped into the glider with your instructor. The glider is attached to another aircraft which will tow you into the sky! Once the cable is released you search out some thermals and then gently glide back down to earth. Unforgettable! The length of the flight itself will vary according to weather conditions, but is likely to be around 15 to 20 minutes. At some locations you may get two winch launched flights or one soaring flight instead.

Can anything be more thrilling than leaping out of an aircraft at 13,000 ft?!! The great advantage of a tandem skydive is that you need no experience - just a 30 minute briefing before you jump. You'll be securely strapped to your instructor and, moments later, you're leaping out of a plane and skydiving to earth at 120 mph. This is one of the most extreme sensations you'll ever experience - up to 50 seconds of free fall and then your instructor will pull the parachute cord and together you fly the canopy back to the drop zone. This is one of the ultimate thrills for adrenaline junkies! Your activity begins with a safety briefing from our expert instructors and pre-jump training to prepare you for your experience. Then, you are taken in an aircraft to between 10,000 and 13,000 feet. Securely attached to your instructor by a dual harness, the free fall will probably be the most exhilarating experience of your life. This is a great introduction to free-fall using a dual harness system - you'll jump with an instructor who controls the free-fall and parachute deployment and landing. This entertaining programme begins with a welcome chat and safety briefing. There is one-to-one instruction on the machines followed by course details and a scoring explanation. Then the real action begins - you are allocated a machine for the heats. This involves negotiating a rough terrain course and various obstacles. participants take part in at least two different heats racing against other competitors, with the top scorers qualifying to reach the final head to head. After a knock-out competition there is a final with awards for the winners. This is a crazy day out and a must for anyone looking to do something out of the ordinary.

Missing the TV programme? Now you can try your hand at guiding sheep into a pen, with a faithful sheepdog to help you. This is a unique opportunity to try your hand at the traditional art of sheep dog herding. Your day will begin with a short talk on the dogs and their instincts and then you'll be introduced to the dogs. The morning will be spent learning the dogs' 'language' in a training ring and working 2 or 3 different dogs. For lunch, 'Shepherds' usually go to the local pub or you can bring a 'pack-up'. In the afternoon, you will be learning to work dogs loose in the field and finish moving a small flock of sheep round the field and completing a small course. The sense of achievement you'll feel when you've finally got all the sheep in the pen is second to none!
If you love horses - you'll be fascinated by this special activity day-out. You'll join a professional Equine vet as they spend the day caring for horses. There's masses to learn and enjoy. You will be 'Shadowing' one of the equine veterinary surgeons throughout the day, which could include routine or emergency visits, watching consultations, some lab work if interested and some x-ray and/or ultrasound work. Due to the nature of this activity we can not guarantee the content of your day. This is an equine veterinary centre.
Discover the Sport of Kings with an afternoon at the races. This full day programme includes a morning visit to a trainer's stable, a trip to the gallops to see the horses at exercise and, of course, entrance to the members' enclosure for an afternoon at the races. You will be accompanied by a racing professional throughout, who will explain all aspects of racing, including - most importantly - how to place bets. It could turn out to be a profitable day! Please note that transfers from the trainer's stable to the racecourse are not included and will involve a drive of anything from 15 to 60 minutes.
